Teen Arts, Cultural & Career Festival (TACCF)

Provides a bridge for students in the local community, particularly those of the underserved population, to experience higher education, culture, career opportunities, and celebrates the community cultural diversity in our Nation's #1 Arts destination, St. Petersburg, Fla.

A Night at the Cotton Club 

Offers St. Petersburg residents a nostalgic taste of the Harlem Renaissance Era and the historic Manhattan Casino. ACT's Students along with professional actors and musicians perform the music of legends like Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Louis Armstrong, and Sam Cooke. The show provides a platform for youth in the community to experience history in a creative way and offers them an alternative outlet to make better choices in their lives.

MOTOWN IN MIDTOWN

A celebration that commemorates America’s Soul Music that was made popular under the leadership of Motown Records’ Founder/CEO Berry Gordy Jr. and Business Partner, Smokey Robinson. These two gentlemen took their existing resources and contributed to America’s culture in ways that had not been done before. Gordy, Robinson, and their team gave hope, opportunity, inspiration, and love not only to the African American community, but to the world.

 

ACT's Students along with professional actors and musicians take its audience on a journey that tells the story of Berry Gordy Jr. leaving the assembly line at Ford Motors, to launch his own business that would later launch the careers of many greats, such as Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Temptations and many others.

Shout St. Pete Shout

Shout St. Pete Shout is a theatrical musical production that celebrates the history of Gospel Music. ACT's Students along with professional actors and musicians take its audience on a musical journey from ‘Negro’ Spirituals to Contemporary Gospel music. Production includes a narrative of the music history and songs, such as Deep River, Amazing Grace, Take My Hand Precious Lord and many others.

Inaugural Gala 2015: Inspiring Success

 

The ACT Soul Train Party is a fun charity event at the historic Gulfport Casino to party for a cause. The highlights for the evening will be a spectacular “Soul Train Line”, Prizes for Best 70's Costume, Complimentary Champagne Fountain, Soul Food and Live Soul Music.

 

 The ACT Soul Train Party proceeds will support and improve the quality of life for youth and teens in greater St. Petersburg, FL to become healthy, productive, and responsible citizens by fostering creativity through arts education, career guidance, healthy living, and leadership development in our afterschool programs. A highlight for the evening will be a spectacular “Soul Train” performance by our very own talented St. Petersburg youth you won't want to miss
